2. Mushroom cloud over Nagasaki
The second atomic bomb exploded over the city. A cloud of ash and debris thundered across 11.4 square miles of the city. The estimated death toll at the instant the bomb dropped was around 40,000. Total estimated death toll was 140,000.

The bomb wasn't dropped in the most populated part of the city. In the red section, about 28,000 died and the orange about 12,000 deaths. After one year, 30,000 people died due to radiation sickness, injuries, and other side effects of the bomb. After five years, another 70,000 people died due to bomb related illnesses such as cancer.

The Second Atomic Bomb --- Fat Man
Aboard Bockscar, the second atomic bomb was actually headed for the city of Kokura. Due to heavy cloud cover, the plane was diverted to Nagasaki. The Fat Man was a plutonium bomb. The bomb caused a wind that traveled at 1444 ft/sec and temperatures that reached 9,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The bomb was as powerful as 20,000 tons of TNT.
